About Us
Established in the late 70s by the Meredith family, Dual Seal Glass originally operated from 10,000 sq ft in Milnsbridge, Huddersfield.
The early business focussed on the domestic sector of the building market and quickly built a local reputation for service and quality.
Dual Seal Glass was one of the early users of ‘soft coated’ glasses, seeing the far reaching benefits of lower ‘U-values’ and improved light transmission linked with a neutral appearance, well ahead of the Part L 2002 regulation changes demanding improved energy conservation in new buildings.
Expansion into a second factory unit, adjacent to the existing plot, was realised in the early 80s, and the site remained the Dual Seal home until 2001.
The new millennia saw major changes in the Dual Seal Glass business, firstly a move to a new 50,000sq ft factory on Leeds Road in Huddersfield and secondly a major investment in toughening, cutting and automated unit manufacture underpinning the planned transition into the commercial sector of the glass industry.
Now established as one of the UK’s leading independent commercial unit manufacturers Dual Seal Glass continues to be forward thinking, looking at new ‘green’ technologies and products to suit the demands of an ever-changing market.
Dual Seal Glass recognises the government ‘Train to Gain’ and ‘Skills for Life’ initiatives and continues to invest in its workforce. This, together with continued investment in new technology will enable the company to remain at the ‘cutting edge’ of the glass industry.
Dual Seal Glass is proud of its West Yorkshire heritage and continues to support junior football in the local area as well as being a major sponsor of Huddersfield Town FC and Huddersfield Giants.
