Installation Guidelines
DUAL SEAL/DUALTHERM/DUALSPAN double-glazed units are suitable for all types of assembly:
- UPVC, Wood, Aluminium, Steel or Composite Frames
- Structural Sealant glazing facade sysyems
- Glass Replacement, without changing the frame
The choice of the most appropriate method for installation and assembly of double-glazing depends on several factors, including the dimension of the glass, exposure to external stresses and the type of frame of facade syatem.
The installation and fixing techniques that are used for the glass must conform to the recommendations of the current national standards (BS6262:1982, BS6262 Part 2:2005, BS8000:Part 7:1990)
The insertion of setting and location blocks in the glazing, the channel, the channel dimensions and the permissable deflection of the frame for insulatedglass units are not specific points for DUAL SEAL GLASS LTD double-glazed units.
Depending on the location of the double glazed units in the building its performance characteristics, it may be necessary to check the possible risk of breakage due to thermal stress and thus the need for heat treatment of the glass used
